Early Stage 1 - Diversity

This unit of work for Early Stage 1 provides suggested activities to facilitate students’ understanding of diversity through an inquiry framework. They emphasise belonging, respect for and appreciation of difference and empathy for others.

Stage 1 - Diversity

The following units of work for Stage 1 provide suggested activities to facilitate students’ understanding of diversity through an inquiry framework. Students engage in activities that promote respect and appreciation of difference through increased understanding and empathy for others.

Stage 2 - Diversity

The following units of work for Stage 2 provide suggested activities to facilitate students’ understanding of diversity through an inquiry framework. They emphasise belonging, respect for and appreciation of difference and empathy for others.

Stage 3 - Diversity and difference

The following units of work for Stage 3 provide suggested activities to develop students’ understanding of diversity and appreciation of difference using an inquiry-based framework. Critical thinking is developed as students evaluate and challenge perspectives including negative stereotypes and cultural and social bias.

Stage 4 - Relationships and wellbeing

The three units of work for Stage 4 provide suggested activities to facilitate students’ understanding of diversity through an inquiry framework. Students engage in activities that promote respect and appreciation of difference through increased understanding and empathy for others. Students also learn about and practise skills and behaviours that protect themselves and others from bullying behaviour.

Stage 5 - Respectful relationships

The three units of work for Stage 5 provide suggested activities to facilitate an understanding of diversity, inclusion and equality through an inquiry framework. Students engage in activities that promote respect for and appreciation of difference through increased understanding and empathy for others. Students also learn about and practise skills and behaviours that protect themselves and others from bullying behaviours.
