Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Rural Professional Experience Program, you must:
be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
be a domestic student completing your penultimate or final-year professional experience placement as part of a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching degree at a recognised and participating university in New South Wales. Your studies will need to meet the department's and NESA’s academic requirements for employment as a teacher.
have a paid Working with Children Check.
have completed or be willing to complete all required mandatory training.
be committed to the values of public education and eligible for employment in a NSW Department of Education school at the completion of your studies.
possess English language proficiency that is of a standard that would enable you to teach and interact effectively and confidently in a NSW public school.
not have pre-arranged employment in a non-government school after the completion of your final professional experience placement.
