About the Career Connections Program
The Career Connections Program offers eligible second, third and final-year Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching students a unique opportunity to explore teaching as a career across Greater Sydney public schools.
Applications for the Term 4 program are now open. Submit your application by Monday 3 August, 11:59 pm (AEST).

Explore NSW public school classrooms across Greater Sydney networks
Engage with local school communities and experienced teachers
Gain practical insights into teaching in diverse and dynamic settings
Community
Connect with the Teach NSW team and fellow pre-service teachers
Build professional networks and develop your professional practice
Engage in Q&A panels, information sessions and networking opportunities.
Career
- Remain connected to the department and gain support in applying for approval to teach
- Learn about opportunities to work as a Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO)
- Discover pathways to temporary and permanent employment in NSW public schools.

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident completing your second, third or final-year of an accredited Bachelor of Education degree or your Master of Teaching degree at the time of the program. Your studies will need to meet the department’s and NESA’s academic requirements for employment as a teacher.
Hold a valid Working With Children Check.
Be willing to complete a professional experience placement in a high-demand metropolitan location.
Demonstrate a passion for, and commitment to, the values of public education.
Not be committed to employment in a non-government school after the completion of your final professional experience placement.
Possess English language proficiency that is of a standard that would enable you to teach and interact effectively and confidently in a NSW public school.
The application process will seek to attract the strongest applicants, with priority given to applicants studying in high-demand subject areas.
